The WWE vs AEW situation is still heating up, and the fact that Vince McMahon stepped down to allow Triple H a chance to finally run the company is causing a big change all around. WWE is waiting in the wings for a couple AEW contracts to expire.

It was previously reported that Malakai Black was approached by WWE, but we’re uncertain how far along talks are. It seems that Black isn’t the only one who WWE has their eyes on, because Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that FTR and Swerve Strickland were also contacted via feelers.

In addition to Malakai, a source within WWE also stated they heard that feelers were sent out to Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR. The two have a while left AEW contracts, and spent years in the WWE system working with Triple H. WWE had made numerous efforts to re-sign FTR under the Vince McMahon regime, but they chose to join AEW.

Among others, Swerve Strickland is a name widely known within AEW that was also contacted by WWE.

It was reported that no name was revealed, but “an AEW source also said WWE had reached out in August to an AEW name who had been with the company since the start, but that even we’d be surprised to learn they reached out to.”

Ringside News exclusively reported that Kenny Omega sent out his own feelers to WWE while he was out during his injury hiatus.

We’ll have to see how the pro wrestling landscape looks in a year from now. It seems that there are a few people on the AEW roster that WWE could have some ideas for with their new leadership.
