Tony D’Angelo became one of the highlights of NXT television thanks to his solid character work. While he is gaining fanfare as of late, that has not helped him when it comes to injuries.

During the latest set of NXT tapings, D’Angelo seemed to suffer an injury while he was facing Wes Lee in a match to air on September 27th. It was said that D’Angelo was sent into the turnbuckles, but he went down in the corner and was then checked out by doctors. The match was called, and D’Angelo had to be helped to the back.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tony D’Angelo suffered a legitimate injury but officials aren’t sure how serious it is yet. For the time being, it is not known when he will be back.

D’Angelo has been feuding with Cameron Grimes, but that might have ended this week as Grimes and Joe Gacy defeated D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in a tag team match. We’ll keep you updated on his status.
