Will Ospreay challenged Kota Ibushi for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW’s Sakura Genesis event last year. Ospreay shocked the world after beating Ibushi to become the new champion and cemented his legacy. Unfortunately, he was forced to relinquish it due to neck injury. He also seems to be done with AEW for the time being.

The Aerial Assassin has come back with a vengeance since then and has already won championships since his return. He also had a match of the year contender with Orange Cassidy at the Forbidden Door event.

The main event of this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks face off against The United Empire in the semi-finals of the trios tournament. After a solid match, it was The Elite who came out on top.

Following the conclusion of the show, Will Ospreay took to Twitter and claimed that he is done with AEW for the foreseeable future while making it clear he is now even with Kenny Omega.

For the foreseeable future my time with

@AEW is done thanks to

@TonyKhan for having your own mind and not listening to

@KennyOmegamanX attempts at blocking me from coming to do a few matches for ya. We are even for now Ken, keep your mouth shut & we won’t have any issues.

Ospreay also beat down on The Elite after the match. We will have to wait and see when the highly accomplished pro wrestler will be making his way back to Tony Khan’s company.
