Cody Rhodes left AEW back in February, and fans were certainly surprised by this. Prior to his exit, Rhodes was one of the highlights of AEW television. He helped put over numerous talents during his time there, including the likes of Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, MJF and many more.
Rhodes was almost always booed in AEW during the tail end of his run in the company. Fans simply wanted him to turn heel no matter what, but that never happened. Rhodes also does not want to change a thing about that.
A fan pointed out on Twitter that people “underestimate” Rhodes’ importance in starting AEW. Rhodes replied to the fan, stating that the facts are all “out there.”
Facts are all out there to see…without Brandi or I it wouldn’t exist. Look no further than some of the infrastructure in place or even half the names of the events. Tony, Bucks, Kenny, Jericho, Dana, Hang…pioneers. I’ve moved on to the next stage for me, but beautiful memories.
Cody Rhodes hinted at making his return during the Royal Rumble match next year. No definite time frame has been given for his return to the ring. We will have to wait and see whether he does return during the event. If anything, we know that the American Nightmare has a lot more to accomplish.
