The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship was taken away from Sasha Banks and Naomi on May 16 as result of their departure from the company due to a creative disagreement with Vince McMahon. Although it’s unclear whether Banks and the business are still at odds as a result of McMahon’s retirement, The Boss hasn’t let that stop her from posting on social media about some of the things she’s accomplished while working there, stoking speculation about her potential comeback.

Banks recently took to Instagram to share some throwback photos from the first NXT Takeover: Brooklyn seven years ago. She posted a carousel of pictures from her “NXT” Women’s Championship match against Bayley that evening. Banks highlighted her evolution in the caption.

[Bear] witness to my evolution. Happy anniversary to the greatest feeling.

Many people reacted on the picture, including former WWE superstar Lio Rush, who said, “What a moment.” That evening, Bayley triumphed against Banks to win the gold, putting an end to their conflict. After the fight, Banks joined Bayley, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch in the ring to celebrate.

The “NXT” Year-End Awards that year would ultimately name the match “Match of the Year.” Banks became one of WWE’s most well-known performers after moving up from “NXT,” winning the “Raw” Women’s Championship five times and the “SmackDown” Women’s Championship once.

WWE is also coming up with plans for Banks and Naomi when they come back. Banks is also confident ahead of her WWE return as well. It remains to be seen just when the two will finally return.
