Chris Benoit was one of the best pro wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. He made his mark all over the world in various pro wrestling companies.

Chris Benoit worked very hard to finally make it to the top of the mountain in WWE. He defeated Triple H and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 20 to win the World Heavyweight Championship in a feel-good moment for fans and peers alike.

There is no denying just how intense Benoit was in general. While speaking on his podcast, Matt Hardy talked about his experience facing Chris Benoit. Hardy admitted that he dreaded wrestling Chris Benoit.

“I’ll tell you what, Chris Benoit, you know, obviously everyone hates how everything ended with him, understandably and correctly so. But I was going to say, whenever I wrestled him, I loved wrestling him on TV because I knew I would be ready for it, and I would go because I was prepared for TV, and I always knew it was going to be a phenomenal match,” Matt Hardy explained. “But whenever we were on a house show, especially when I was run down and beat up, I was like, ‘F***!’ I always dreaded wrestling Benoit because I knew you couldn’t slow down.”

Benoit’s legacy was tarnished after his murder-suicide back in 2007, but fans will always remember how great of a pro wrestler he was.
