Vince McMahon was part of numerous headlines back in June after it was revealed that he secretly paid $3 million as settlement to a departing employee. McMahon was under investigation right after this, and he had to retire.

It was later discovered that McMahon also paid $12 million in hush money to several women over the last twenty years. Evidently, this was the straw that broke the camel’s back and enraged many people.

Triple H was then made the head of WWE Creative, while Stephanie McMahon became the CEO of the company. According to Fightful’s paywall, the matter of Vince McMahon still running WWE after his retirement was addressed.

It was reported that Vince McMahon, in no way, is running the company in the shadows. It was added that McMahon may have limited access to WWE facilities at this time.

If it could not be any clearer, Vince McMahon is not in control of WWE. After several conspiracy theories among fans and some pundits that Vince McMahon was still running the show or “pulling the strings,” several higher ups in WWE constantly reiterated to Fightful during Summerslam week that wasn’t the case. In fact, one WWE source had indicated WWE Raw would be a “statement” show for that reason, and establish who is running the show.

If Vince McMahon was still involved to any degree, neither Summerslam or WWE Raw would have resembled what they looked like. Dakota would not have been brought back, Raw would have been several Summerslam rematches,” one WWE higher up said.

We’ve also heard that Vince may have limited access to WWE facilities at this time, but haven’t confirmed that.

Triple H is clearly the head of WWE Creative, and the changes reflect that already. We will have to wait and see how WWE will keep on introducing changes in the coming months.
