Intercontinental Title Match Announced For WWE SmackDown Next Week

Gunther beat Ricochet to win the Intercontinental Championship from Ricochet on an episode of SmackDown from June. The Austrian defeated the high flyer in convincing fashion to win his first singles title on the main roster.

WWE announced that Gunther will defend his title against Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown next week. The King of Strong Style earned the title shot after defeating Ludwig Kaiser in singles action.

WWE also booked another title match for Clash at the Castle during SmackDown this week. Shayna Baszler won a gauntlet match to challenge Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the September 3rd premium live event.
