Paige had a remarkable career in WWE, being one of the most popular female stars in NXT. She then went on to win the Divas Championship as well, but her career was cut short after an accident in the ring. Sasha Banks was a part of that, but it wasn’t her fault.

Paige had to retire after she was kicked from the back by Sasha Banks during 2017 WWE MSG show. This was a tragic turn of events, and one that changed the course of WWE’s women’s division in a big way.

While speaking at Starrcast V, Paige recalled her conversation with Sasha Banks in the ring following her career-ending injury. She told Banks that the injury wasn’t her fault.

“So he [the referee] threw up the ‘X’ and I look at poor Sasha [Banks] in the corner and she’s like ‘I’m so sorry.’ And I’m like ‘If it wasn’t you, it was going to be somebody else.’ I thought I could come back and do exactly the same things that I could do prior to my first neck injury, and so that’s on me, that’s my fault. I did literally the same move with Bayley the day before, and unfortunately timing was just a little bit off and it happens, it is what it is.”

Paige is no longer working in WWE since last month. On the other hand, Sasha Banks might have also been released after walking out on Monday Night RAW back in May. We’ll have to see what will become of both of them.
