Jonathan Gresham became the undisputed Ring of Honor World Champion at Supercard of Honor in April 2022. Gresham defeated Bandido to unify the titles at the ROH pay-per-view event.

Gresham put his title on the line against Claudio Castagnoli last night at Death Before Dishonor. The Foundation lost the title to the Swiss Superman. It appears that he might be done with the promotion as well.

Sean Sapp reported from behind Fightful’s paywall that Gresham asked for his release from both ROH and AEW before Death Before Dishonor on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022.

It was noted that Gresham had a meeting with Tony Khan before the July 23rd pay-per-view event. Gresham communicated his frustrations and “cussed out” the AEW head honcho.

Jonathan Gresham asked for his release Saturday ahead of the ROH Death Before Dishonor show that saw him lose the championship. We’re told that there was a lack of communication between the company and Gresham leading up to the weekend, and Gresham was said to have felt disrespected by this.

Among other things, we learned that the lack of time for the world title match was a tipping point as well. We’re told that Gresham finally procured a meeting with Tony Khan before the show, he was said to have communicated the frustration that led to him “cussing out” Khan.

Gresham also deactivated his Twitter account following his loss to Claudio Castagnoli at Death Before Dishonor. Gresham was one of the highlights or ROH before the company went into hiatus. We’ll have to wait and see what’s next in store for The Foundation.
