Vince McMahon shocked the pro wrestling world today when he retired from WWE. Tony Khan was taking notice.

Khan, who is AEW President and CEO of the company, took to Twitter, and he dropped quite a gem of a post. While saying how proud he is to be the “longest-tenured CEO in Pro Wrestling,” he also took the opportunity to plug AEW Rampage tonight.

Thanks to you wrestling fans and your great support of @AEW, I’m grateful to now be the longest-tenured CEO in pro wrestling.

Thank you very much to every single person who watches @AEWonTV!

See you for Friday Night #AEWRampage on @TNTdrama @ 10pm ET/9pm CT/10pm PT *TONIGHT*!

We’ll have to see what’s next in this situation. Obviously, tons of people are commenting on Vince McMahon’s retirement. Tony Khan couldn’t keep that remark to himself, and his tweet is further proof that WWE will always be fodder for AEW to commentate on.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
