The Undertaker can stand up with any professional wrestler in history as one of the sport’s all-time legends. When Mark Calloway first portrayed The Undertaker in WWE, he could not have known where his career would take him. After a lengthy run, Taker finally called it quits and has had some more time to reflect on his life outside of the ring.

During A&E’s recent episode of WWE Legends, The Undertaker’s life story unfolded before wrestling fans. As a character, he was one of the most protected in the business. In real life, he is just a human being like the rest of us.

While talking about his children, The Undertaker noted that he missed out on a lot. He hopes that his kids understand the sacrifices he made for them. To be a wrestling star means rarely being home.

“This business is tough. It’s not an excuse. But it’s tough to be a star in the business. Because the only way you do that is you gotta be on the road and you gotta be gone. I love my children and hopefully. They understand how much I do love them. But I missed out.

I missed out on so much those early years with them. Because I was pursuing this dream. It’s just hard to be that guy on the road and then come home and try to be a dad.”

Since stepping away from the ring, The Undertaker has been able to connect more personally with his children. Life on the road led to multiple kids and multiple marriages for the WWE Hall of Famer. Hopefully, retirement allows him to make up for lost time.
