Santana Forced To Relinquish Title Due To Injury

Santana and Ortiz made their debut in AEW back in 2019 and since then they have been one of the mainstays of AEW’s tag team division. They have had numerous great matches against the likes of The Young Bucks, FTR and other tag teams. Santana was also forced to relinquish a title due to injury.

Santana injured his knee during the Blood and Guts match a few weeks ago on AEW Dynamite. The injury took place when the Pride and Powerful star delivered a uranage to Daniel Garcia.

At a recent LAWE Wrestling show, Santana was spotted on crutches. He also revealed that he was forced to relinquish the LAWE World Championship due to his injury.

Santana is also expected to be out of action for 8 months now. We will have to wait and see whether he will be able to return sooner than that and whether AEW will have anything planned for Santana once he is back.
