Santana injured his knee during the Blood and Guts match a few weeks ago on AEW Dynamite. The injury occurred when the Pride and Powerful star delivered a uranage to Daniel Garcia. Someone else who wrestled in that match might know how long Santana will be out of action.

During his appearance on the “True Gordie” podcast, Chris Jericho provided an update on what’s going on with Santana. The former AEW Champion emphasized that Santana’s injury came from a simple wrestling maneuver.

He f*cked up his knee from doing a simple Rock Bottom. That’s not on top of a cage, that’s not falling off a cage, that’s not getting hit with a barbed wire bat, or whatever. It’s doing a wrestling move, and he’s out eight months.

Santana and his partner Ortiz aligned themselves with Jericho as part of the stable known as The Inner Circle. The stable was disbanded after Jericho turned on the Proud and Powerful duo. Although Santana may be out for a while, he can at least take solace that his team got a victory over Jericho inside Blood and Guts.
