Vince McMahon Told Off WWE Writers For Trying To Impress Dave Meltzer

Vince McMahon was the Chairman of WWE and has been one of the biggest names in the pro wrestling business. Stephanie McMahon is now the acting CEO of WWE after Vince’s hush money scandal, but he still does whatever he wants to do, whenever he wants to, and that’s never changing. He also told off WWE writers for trying to impress Dave Meltzer.

Dave Meltzer is famous for sharing his opinions on matches and handing out star ratings. A 5* match is something that is saved for the best of the best matches.

While speaking on Cheap Heat Productions Podcast ex-WWE magazine writer Brian Solomon recalled Vince McMahon referencing Meltzer. He told off writers for trying to impress Meltzer.

“We wanted to do the greatest steel cage matches ever, and he goes, ‘Boy, you guys really need to take your heads out of Dave Meltzer’s ass.’ I’m terrified, of course, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I’m like 30 years old, whatever it is, I’m just trying to feed my kids, and this crazy billionaire and his whims.

“There would be other times when he’d be totally agreeable and nice and warm, talk to me about his family, his kids, his father, tell me these stories about when he was a kid and the things that he saw.”
