Pat McAfee made his NXT debut against Adam Cole, as he was engaged in feud with Cole back in 2020. The two had some solid matches against one another and after a hiatus from WWE television, Pat McAfee made his way to Friday Night Smackdown as part of the commentary team.

The two clearly have a lot of disdain for each other, and it is unlikely that will ever change. Despite this, Adam Cole still has respect for Pat McAfee’s ability, because he has seen it first-hand.

While speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Adam Cole gave Pat McAfee huge props for his talent. However, Cole added that McAfee is a real jerk.

“As much as I can’t stand the guy, you know, Pat is a very, very talented person. Very charismatic, has the gift of gab for days. He really respects pro wrestling a lot, he really does. As far as being a student of the game and watching it and respecting it, he’s the best when it comes to that. So yeah, but getting the chance to do any sort of program with someone who’s a non-wrestler, was very, very fun.

It was such a compliment for them to trust me with that role of getting to be in there with Pat. So he’s, again as far as someone being such a natural when it comes to this job, oh my goodness. Yeah. It’s unbelievable. He’s a real jerk but he’s a natural.”

Pat McAfee is also expected to wrestle at SummerSlam. We’ll have to see how McAfee’s match against Happy Corbin will turn out to be once it gets booked properly.
