AEW has certainly come a long way since its inception back in 2019. They have improved themselves in quite a few ways, and there is still a lot more they can do. Jon Moxley also made an interesting comparison for the Forbidden Door Event.

NJPW and AEW started a working partnership last year, which excited fans. Their relationship improved to the point that they are working together for the AEW NJPW crossover event called ‘Forbidden Door.

While speaking on a new episode of The Sessions with Renee Paquette, Jon Moxley talked about the Forbidden Door Event. He compared it to DC x Marvel.

“It occurred to me that wrestling is so much like the comic book universe in that, there’s beloved characters that can go any number of ways. One character might get brought in as a villain for a one-off and “get over” and then he ends up being a babyface with his own comic book line… some of them might team up, Forbidden Door is almost going to be like a crossover series between like DC and Marvel or something.

There are so many comparisons between that world, and the fans, have you ever been to a Comic Con? Holy s**t it’s the same type of thing.”

Booker T stated that fans won’t care about AEW and NJPW’s partnership. Regardless, we’ll have to see how successful the event will be, since it will air on June 26th. We will also have complete coverage here at Ringside News.
