Injured NXT Stars Expected To Return To Action Soon

The injury bug has been plaguing professional wrestling across the board. AEW has seen several top stars, including World Champion CM Punk facing extended time off. Cody Rhodes recently suffered a horrific pectoral injury. Not even WWE’s developmental brand has been safe.

Io Shirai and Zoey Stark have both been missing in action for the colorful brand. Stark suffered an injury back in November and had to undergo surgery to repair torn ACL. Shirai has been missing in action since NXT: Stand and Deliver.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer offered the latest update on Io Shirai and Zoey Stark’s status. No specific dates were given. Both are expected to be back soon.

“Io Shirai and Zoey Stark, who have both been out with injuries, are expected to be back relatively soon.”

Io Shirai was expected to be ready for action sometime this Summer, so her recovery appears to be on track. Zoey Stark’s surgery was successful, and it is just a matter of time before her return. Both should be back on NXT soon.

With wrestling stars dropping like flies due to what seems like an epidemic of injuries, it’s always nice to hear good news. Io Shirai and Zoey Stark’s impending returns certainly qualify. Hopefully, they can come back 100% and ready to get back down to business.
