Becky Lynch was beaten at her own game during the Raw Women’s Championship match at last night’s Hell in Cell premium live event. Belair capitalized after Becky put Asuka down for the count and stole the victory. Lynch had been doing the same to Bianca the entire bout, and she was irate when the strategy backfired.

That should lead to a singles match for the title between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair down the road. The logical place for that to go down is SummerSlam. It looks like that may be the direction WWE is heading.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about what WWE has planned for Becky Lynch. They didn’t want to use the big match with Belair for Hell in Cell. Instead, they’re likely saving it for the much larger SummerSlam card.

“I would figure that’s SummerSlam [Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair]. It was very clear that they were holding that match off for a while. I don’t think they’re going to wait for Mania because they don’t have the depth, probably, to wait til Mania. But, I figure they’ll wait to SummerSlam for that and that’s why they didn’t do it here.

Really, they didn’t even want Becky in the match here. It was just one of those things where, and I was a little bit surprised, because I figured, eh, just go with a singles match with Asuka, but for whatever reason, they decided instead to go with a three-way.”

Becky Lynch being outsmarted by Bianca Belair but still not taking a pinfall keeps her frustration storyline alive. The two have plenty of history as well, as Becky returned to squash Bianca at last year’s SummerSlam. Fans who have been waiting for that huge match won’t have to wait much longer.
