Kick-Off Show

Kayla Braxton is joined by Booker T, Jerry Lawler, Peter Rosenberg and Kevin Patrick on the kick-off show.

Braxton reveals that Cody suffered a torn pectoral during his brawl with Seth Rollins last Monday, which was then torn worse while weight-training on Saturday. That said, Rhodes will still be competing in tonight’s main event.

We see a video package for Bianca Belair Vs. Asuka Vs. Becky Lynch. Lawler says he’s been married a lot and you never really know a woman until you meet her in court, and the same can be said of title matches. He thinks Becky is willing to stoop low enough to win by any means necessary. Rosenberg says Belair is the one with the most to lose but Booker reckons Belair has been on another level as of late. Rosenberg and Booker pick Belair, Lawler and Patrick choose Lynch.

The panel talk about The Judgement Day. Lawler says they need to call a spade a spade, Edge is a cult leader. Booker compares him to David Koresh and Jim Jones and says it’s all about charisma. Edge is after followers and power. They say it’s an easy cause to get behind because Edge is calling for the disenfranchised and offering them a new life. They all predict Judgement Day to win the match tonight.

We see a video of Cody Rhodes training at the Nightmare Factory. He says he tried to focus on pull-ups, plate raises, and shoulder presses to work on his grip and strength for the Cell. He says his passion has transcended into his life’s work. It would be easy for him to say he’s better than Seth but it’s 2-0 between them. A third match is only happening because he’s allowing it to happen. He wants to close the book.

Highlights are shown of how Mustafa Ali returned and earned himself a shot agianst Theory for the United States Championship. Booker says the biggest mistake Theory has made was not doing some real damage to Ali after he beat him on Monday night. Rosenberg says this is the biggest moment of Ali’s career and Patrick points out that he was gone before Theory was even called up. Lawler and Booker choose Theory but Patrick and Rosenberg said with Ali in his hometown.

The next topic is Happy Corbin Vs. Madcap. Not sure when the change took place, but apparently he’s just Madcap now. Rosenberg admits that Booker saw the talent within Madcap when few others did. Booker says opportunity came knocking and Madcap has stood up to bat. Lawler says nobody would have even heard of Madcap were it not for Corbin.

The final match the panel talk about is the Hell In A Cell main event between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Rosenberg asks what it will be like for Cody to wrestle with a torn pectoral, and Booker says he thinks Cody should live to fight another day. A guy like Rollins will target that pec like an animal. Lawler tells a story about him and Lumberjack LeDuc and how the latter tore his bicep and it cost him. They all think Rollins will win given the injury. And that’s it for the kick-off show.
