Pete Dunne was one of the best stars in NXT UK, where he held the NXT UK Champion for 685 days. After going to NXT, he feuded with many excellent opponents such as Finn Balor, Tommaso Ciampa and more. Butch made an interesting claim about his character as well recently.

The Bruiserweight made his way to Friday Night Smackdown back in March. To the shock of fans, his name was changed to Butch. Unsurprisingly, fans dragged WWE for the decision.

However, now fans have gotten used to Butch’s name and character as well. While speaking to Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Butch talked about his change in character. Butch claimed that Vince McMahon is a huge fan of his character.

“He seems really into this, as you can imagine. He seems really into the idea of Butch. It is entertaining. Not that I want my NXT work to vanish, it never will – it’s always gonna be there, and I hope people can always appreciate it. But if you could do that and you could start all over again, and this is me coming in fresh to the company, I think there’d be a lot of people who’d look at it through a different lens.”

Butch recently partnered up with Sheamus & Ridge on the May 27 episode of Friday SmackDown and faced Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, & Xavier Woods. They ended up losing the match in the end. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for Butch.
