CM Punk left WWE after the Royal Rumble in 2014 after being frustrated with the company, which led to him walking out on it. Punk had made it clear on many occasions that he never wanted to go back to pro wrestling but ultimately changed his mind after debuting in AEW.

The Second City Saint did not take long before he became one of the highlights of AEW programming. He has feuded with the likes of MJF, Eddie Kingston and more and fans are just happy to see him in AEW.

While speaking with ESPN, CM Punk talked about his time in WWE. The Second City Saint explained why he felt his run in WWE was kind of wasted.

“I feel like (WWE run) was kind of wasted. It could have been so much more. It should have been so much more. And now, this is everything I dreamed pro wrestling could and should be.”
