Adam Cole was one of WWE’s standout performers during his time in NXT. At last September’s AEW All Out, Cole became one of many to make the jump to Tony Khan’s company. The surprise debut came alongside that of Bryan Danielson, and the event sent shockwaves throughout professional wrestling.

Cole could have gone anywhere he wanted. There was one thing that AEW had that nobody else could offer. Cole has been in a relationship with Britt Baker for several years.

Ethan Page shared a video from the recent Motor City Comic Con where Adam Cole discussed his reasons for jumping ship. Cole said he just didn’t get to spend enough time with Britt while the two were with different companies. Now, he can greet her backstage after a promo or a match.

“One of the biggest things was getting to be around and see Britt a lot more. At the time, our schedules were so different that there’d be some times that I’d see her for maybe half a day, one day a week. Sometimes I wouldn’t see her for weeks at a time. So getting to travel with her and just being behind the curtain when she walks through after she’s done a match or a promo is really nice.”

Adam Cole is currently competing in the men’s bracket of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Britt Baker is also still in contention on the women’s side. Cole will face Kyle O’Reilly or Samoa Joe at the pay-per-view in the finals.

Adam Cole said he is having a blast in AEW. Being able to travel and be close to his girlfriend is a huge part of that. Up next on the itinerary for the couple is Las Vegas, where AEW will hold Dynamite, Rampage, and Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
