Ric Flair is making a return to the ring, but he is not the only retired pro wrestling legend preparing to dust off his boots. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat is preparing for his return to the ring as well.

The world was shocked after Ric Flair announced he is returning to the ring at 73-years-old. Now 69-year-old Ricky Steamboat is joining him.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Steamboat has been training and is set to break his retirement for another match. It was also reported that Flair and Steamboat coming out of retirement at the same time was not just coincidence.

This is hardly a coincidence that the two foes are returning to the ring at the same time, and that there’s a working plan to have the two involved in a match against one another, albeit not in a one-on-one format.

The current plan is for FTR and Ric Flair to team up and take on the Rock N’ Roll Express and Ricky Steamboat. This match will take place on July 31st at the Starrcast event in Nashville, Tennessee, making the first contest for Steamboat since 2010.

We will have to see what surprises await us in the pro wrestling world. Ricky Steamboat coming out of retirement for another match was certainly something that not a lot of people had money on.
