Ric Flair perked up a lot of ears when word got out that he was planning to make comeback to professional wrestling. The 73-year-old former world heavyweight champion has faced a litany of health issues. Flair has also been at the center of his share of controversy outside the ring.

A recent report noted that Ric Flair was secretly hoping to work a multi-man tag team match sometime soon. There were no dates mentioned. Flair has been working out with Jay Lethal to prepare for the comeback.

Mike Johnson of PW Insider shared an update on Ric Flair’s wrestling plans. The big comeback would be for one night only. The Nature Boy insists that he wants to look good inside the squared circle.

“We are told Flair is looking at doing a one night in-ring comeback that would tentatively happen this summer.  It would not be for WWE or AEW.”

Dave Meltzer noted that Flair was being considered for a multi-man tag match that would involve FTR and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. Nothing is confirmed as far as the details. It sounds like this is a serious effort by Flair to get back into the ring.

Fans will have to wait and see what develops. There is no shortage of independent promoters who would love to have Ric Flair wrestle his last match for them. When and where that happens is unknown, but Flair is intent on wrestling at least one more match.
