People In Power In AEW Want To Sign Candice LeRae

Candice LeRae’s contract with WWE recently expired. Since Candice did not sign a new deal with the company, she is free agent. LeRae is not subject to a non-compete clause and can appear anywhere at any time.

AEW fans would love to see Tony Khan’s promotion pick up Candice LeRae. Her husband, Johnny Gargano, is also a free agent. Many believe the couple would be a solid acquisition as a package deal.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer discussed Candice’s free agency. It was noted that several people in positions of power at AEW would love to sign her. Tony Khan’s thoughts on the matter are unknown.

“Candice LaRae (Candace Gargano, 36) had her contract expire over the weekend. Many close to the situation expected WWE to freeze her contract due to her being out of action due to pregnancy. But what would be a terrible public look to have done so when she didn’t sign a new deal. There is no non-compete so she and her husband Johnny are both free agents. While we don’t know Tony Khan’s thoughts on the matter, it is obvious that there are people in power at AEW who would want her in the company. In the PWG days, The Young Bucks worked memorable matches with LeRae & Joey Ryan, who toured indies as “The World’s Cutest tag team.”

There is still a Joker spot open in the AEW Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament. That mystery wrestler will face Britt Baker in the first round. There has been a lot of speculation about who that might be, and Candice is likely in the mix.

Time will tell if Tony Khan signs Candice LeRae. With a women’s division that has been accused of lacking depth, it would make sense to bring her in. If Tony Khan wants her, she is available.
