WWE has been scouring the country for elite collegiate athletes to bring in as part of the ‘Next in Line’ program. With relaxed rules about paying college sports stars for their name, image, and likeness, WWE is hoping to attract young, athletic prospects into its system. The second class of those recruits will soon be unveiled.

In a press release, WWE stated that they will announce the new class at the upcoming NIL Summit on June 13, 2022. The 15 new athletes will be there in person. They will be introduced at the NIL Awards ceremony at Atlanta’s College Football Hall of Fame.

Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, discussed the new class. Levesque is excited to unveil the latest group of NIL participants. He believes that the program has already proven to be transformational.

“We are excited to unveil our next class of NIL athletes at the inaugural NIL Summit which brings together the brightest minds across this emerging industry for the first time. WWE’s ‘Next In Line’ program has already proven to be transformational for our talent pipeline. We have forged many incredible partnerships with student athletes during the first six months of the program and look forward to ushering in the next wave of talent.”

The NIL program was launched in December of 2021. The first class included athletes from 13 universities, four sports, and seven NCAA conferences. WWE is hoping to find its future superstars through the NIL initiative.

It will be interesting to see the names on the second-ever NIL class for WWE. There is no doubt that the company is focused on building new talent from the ground up. Time will tell how many of them will pan out.
