The AEW World Championship has only been held by four men. The title’s history started when Chris Jericho beat “Hangman” Adam Page at All Out 2019. Since then, only Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, and Page have held the belt.

Each champion made their own contributions to the title. Jericho brought huge name recognition at time when the company was just getting started. Moxley added more of the same. Kenny Omega put on nearly a year’s worth of excellent matches before finally completing Adam Page’s long journey to the championship.

Tony Khan recently sat down with Rasslin’. On the show, Khan discussed who he thought had the best championship run in AEW. Tony believes Adam Page is the best so far.

“I believe the top prize in all of pro wrestling, against the greatest champion we’ve had, Hangman Page. The guy who knocked off Kenny Omega, he’s come in and he’s had, in my opinion, the best championship reign of anybody.”

Khan went on to talk about the long-term feuds the company has built up. Tony cited CM Punk and MJF, Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa as the two that stood out the most. Rosa has compared the rivalry to some of the greatest in wrestling history.

Hangman Page will defend his AEW Championship in his biggest challenge yet. The champ is set to take on CM Punk at Double or Nothing. Many believe this could be the end of what Tony Khan thinks is the greatest AEW title run of all time.
