Kota Ibushi is considered one of the finest professional wrestlers in the world. Ibushi has competed for some of the top global promotions at the highest level. Now, Ibushi is threatening to unleash a backstage scandal that he believes is plaguing New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Ibushi injured his shoulder at the G1 Climax in October. Since then, his relationship with NJPW has become tumultuous. Ibushi has taken to social media to express several grievances against the company.

Kota Ibushi tweeted that “power harassment” happens every day to foreign talent in NJPW. He was threatened with termination by NJPW talent relations staffer Kikuchi just before he started speaking out. Ibushi says he plans to release all the receipts to prove his statements about the toxic culture in New Japan.

“My daily life is not tiring at all. But, I just had to say it because, while the good parts are good, (NJPW’s) culture of having to let the bad things slide was so abnormal. I am gonna expose all of it. I think you’ll know then.

There are some abnormalities that you’d overlook when you’re in the inner circle. It will sound imprudent, but someone can die at any moment with power harassment, lying, and cheating being commonplace. I feel sorry for it and I have to correct this situation.”

Ibushi’s tweets were translated by several fans. Twitter user @golden_kuma created a thread outlining Ibushi’s accusations which can be read below. If Kota Ibushi’s statements are proven true, there could be a major scandal brewing at New Japan Pro Wrestling.
