WWE brought a loaded show to Knoxville for RAW this week and some fans noticed it seemed fresher. There was no creative shift backstage, but Vince McMahon also didn’t want to see anything he didn’t like.

RAW didn’t perform in the ratings this week at all, bringing in 1,613,000 viewers with a .44 in the 18 to 49 demographic. Plenty of fans were entertained and had a lot of good things to say about a show centered around Randy Orton’s 20th Anniversary.

Ringside News was told by a tenured member of the creative team that “nothing was different” this week for RAW. Vince wanted “different than what was pitched until he heard something he liked.”

We are told “that happens a lot.” Also, Vince McMahon “usually ends up liking bad things,” but “this time, the pacing was better, [and it] helped a lot.” Many fans would agree that the pacing of this week’s three-hour broadcast was easier to watch.

We’ll have to see if WWE keeps up this trend, because they’ve only put on one good week of RAW. They have another show to write for Monday next week and there is no offseason in WWE.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
