Buff Bagwell has been using social media to reconnect with his fans. The former WCW star is taking a positive approach to Twitter, showing huge support for the LGBTQ community and sharing his opinions on today’s wrestling scene. A recent video of an interview from Bagwell’s past went viral, prompting a response from the Buffster himself.

In the clip, Bagwell heaps praise on former president Donald Trump. Buff went so far as to say that Trump has done everything right. Many fans have called Bagwell a hypocrite for taking to so many liberal causes while saying the exact opposite so recently.

Bagwell took to social media to explain the situation. From the start, he has said he was never a political person. At the time, Buff noted that he had just received a check in the mail with Trump’s name on it (referring to the COVID stimulus payments) and had a lot of people in his ear telling him things that he took at face value. He said he had received advice to take a social media break, but Buff is adamant about soldiering on.

“I was told to stay away from twitter for a few days by “PR” people, but that’s just not me, I love being able to interact with people on here, and if my past is brought up I will explain myself respect those that decide to get off the boat and love those that decide to ride it with me.”

Buff Bagwell said in another tweet that the reason his opinions changed so quickly was a combination of sobriety and having better people around him. Buff credited a friend who questioned him about his interview and helped open his eyes to new ideas. Eventually, it all clicked.

Oftentimes, change can be perceived as a weakness. Buff Bagwell is showing strength by answering to his past. In Bagwell’s opinion, it’s a sign of growth as a human being.
