Jeff and Matt Hardy are two of the most recognizable pro wrestlers in the history of the pro wrestling business. The two have been synonymous with tag team wrestling since the late 90s. Matt Hardy also revealed why they wrestled on AEW Dark: Elevation recently.

Ever since Jeff Hardy made his way to AEW earlier this month, he and Matt have been tearing it up on AEW television. They even competed on AEW Dark and Elevation.

For many fans, this was seen as very problematic booking. The decision was even slammed as demotion. While speaking on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy explained why Tony Khan decided to make The Hardys wrestle on AEW Dark and Elevation.

“That [tag team match] was going to be on Rampage and Tony said, ‘Well, I feel like we’re just giving [the fans] a Dynamite and I want to give them all the stars that are here, I want to give them the best experience possible. Would you be okay just moving this Rampage match so they see the Hardys? We’ll take that Rampage match that I talked about doing and just bump it to Elevation, and that way, the live crowd gets to see you and it’ll be a huge match for Elevation. Hopefully, that’ll do a great number online.”

Matt Hardy previously fired back at those who criticized them for wrestling on AEW Dark. The Hardys are currently happy working for AEW and many fans have simply accepted that fact.
