Lance Archer missed significant time in AEW after suffering an injured neck. These types of injuries are incredibly common among wrestlers, but they can also be very severe. Archer knows what it’s like to have bad neck, and he sympathizes with former WWE Champion Big E, who recently broke a vertebra in his cervical spine.

The Murderhawk Monster recently appeared on “The Wrestling Perspective” where he talked about neck injuries in the sport. Archer said his injury was very different from the one Big E suffered. Archer had a clean MRI with no major damage, while Big E mostly had damage to the bone that protects his spinal cord.

Archer said Big E will have a long recovery ahead of him, although it is fortunate that the New Day member won’t need surgery. The lack of spinal cord damage is very promising. Archer says he will never be the same after the injury, though.

“First of all, for Big E, I hope for a speedy recovery for the guy. I was literally there on his first day of training at FCW way back in the day. He’s a super good dude from the very beginning. Everybody that seems to know him and love him, we’re all hoping he has a speedy recovery.

His (injury) seems to be a little more severe than mine. I got lucky and was blessed because I didn’t actually break my neck. The MRIs that I got were all clean. I didn’t have any damage to the spinal cord, no breaks, nothing like that. I just ultimately had severe trauma to the muscles through my neck and into my back. It’s basically like having a severe whiplash situation on my part.

So for him, you know, luckily he said he has cracked vertebrae, but nothing that requires surgery from what he said, which is an amazing thing. But it’s a long process.”

Big E is one of the most well-liked superstars of any major wrestling promotion. Lance Archer empathizes with him about how bad a neck injury can be. Everybody is pulling for E to make a full recovery.
