Kevin Owens had a moment he dreamed about as kid at WrestleMania 38. Standing in the ring across from one of his idols, KO was about to have a bona fide wrestling match with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Owens is not sure if he can ever top that special night.

Kevin Owens has been a fan of Steve Austin since he was a teenager. The intensity of the build-up to the match was unparalleled. Owens and Austin delivered a moment fans won’t soon forget.

KO recently appeared on After the Bell with Corey Graves, where he talked about the WrestleMania matchup. Kevin said his career is all downhill from here. He still can’t comprehend what happened at Mania.

“It’s all downhill from here, really. It’s still unbelievable. Sometimes, I’ll have my moments where I’m not doing anything, I’m just sitting around, and I’ll pull it up on my phone and I’ll specifically watch the moment where the ref rings the bell. I still can’t believe it happened. It’s really hard to process what happened and hard to put into words.

t’s the moment where I say, ‘I’m looking for a fight.’ That’s when he turns and gives me that glare. When I say, ‘I’m looking for a fight,’ You see people behind him standing up and you hear the buzz. Moments like that are special. Another thing I remember really well — this might have been caught by a WWE 24 documentary crew — at one point, right before we went out, I caught a glimpse of him just pacing back and forth. He looked like a caged lion ready to murder me. I was like, ‘Oh man, this is going to be wild.’ It’s all very surreal and hard to put into words.”

Kevin Owens still has plenty of great moments ahead of him. Understandably, he would think wrestling Steve Austin at WrestleMania will be impossible to top. That doesn’t mean KO can’t continue to deliver week in and week out.
