The Blackpool Combat Club is one of the hottest new stables in AEW. Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson teamed up with the legendary William Regal to seek out the toughest wrestlers in the promotion. Thus far, Wheeler Yuta has proven himself worthy.

The original plan is reported to have been for Daniel Garcia to join the BCC. Chris Jericho wanted Garcia for his Jericho Appreciation Society stable. Yuta was then plugged in as the third member.

Dave Meltzer reported on the news in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Garcia was being angled towards as a member of the BCC given his interactions with the group on TV. Jericho ultimately wanted him for the JAS.

“When Bryan Danielson first teased the idea of the unit with Jon Moxley and mentioned Lee Moriarty, Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta, there was talk of Garcia at one point in the unit but Chris Jericho personally picked Garcia to join the Jericho Appreciation Society”

Things seem to have worked out for both Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia. Garcia is already known as a tough competitor, and working with Jericho as a “sports entertainer” gives him some added depth. Yuta needed something to legitimize him in the eyes of fans.

As always, there are plenty of moving parts to every wrestling storyline. It looks like AEW got it right in this case. Time will tell how successful Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia will be as members of their new groups.
