Josh Alexander will battle Moose at Rebellion on April 23rd for the Impact World Title. It turns out that he certainly had options about his future.

Alexander’s achievements include great promo skills and excellent in-ring judgment. Recently he spoke with the “Battleground Podcast” about re-signing with Impact Wrestling. Alexander mentioned AEW’s reluctance to work with him and his Impact return.

For Josh, signing with Impact was a straightforward choice. He opined that wrestlers have to be the top 10% to have a sustainable position with any wrestling company.

“It was an easy decision for me. Right now I think the one thing that’s changed in the wrestling landscape, especially for like free agents and professional wrestlers, is regardless of whatever you have to offer, you have to be the top 10% to have a job now in one of those sustainable positions at any of these companies, Impact included,” Alexander stated.

Josh described AEW’s decision to sign so many wrestlers simultaneously, but also how the waters are “packed dry.”

“Because as you’ve seen with AEW signing up everybody that they can and all this other stuff, it’s just like, the waters are kind of picked dry a little bit, and whoever’s left is kind of fighting for whatever’s left.”

Alexander sincerely thanks Impact for presenting him with opportunities that he would not have received through any other promotion. Apparently, AEW was never interested in him as a single’s wrestler.

Tune in to watch Rebellion on April 23. The show will air at 8 p.m. EST & tickets are still available. We will have complete coverage here at Ringside News.
