Tony Khan has announced yet another major announcement for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Fans in Pittsburgh will be the first to hear the news, but there has not been much info on what it might be. There have been a ton of different ideas circulating, but we won’t know for sure until the show airs.

Some of the more popular guesses are an upcoming AEW/NJPW supershow, a streaming deal, or a new TV deal for Ring of Honor. Khan recently purchased ROH and has featured the brand heavily on AEW TV. Supercard of Honor was a big success on pay-per-view, and Khan would love to keep the brand’s momentum going.

On the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the possibilities. Meltzer noted that Sinclair showed their final ROH broadcast this week. With Khan aggressively locking down talent for the brand, a new TV home for Ring of Honor could be the announcement.

“Yeah, it could be any one of a million different things. Could be a lot of different things. Distribution deal for Ring of Honor, streaming deal…The last Sinclair show was today… This was the last one. So, obviously, Sinclair was not interested in keeping the programming when they sold the company. He [Tony Khan] is signing people up. You know, Jonathan Gresham, the guys that Tully Blanchard (Toa Liona & Kuan) and some of the other guys. He’s signing guys. He’s going with the impression that he’s getting something.

So, I think he’s probably in at least… I gotta think he’s in at least talks of it, so maybe that’s the announcement.”

Ringside News has also heard that Tony Khan might announce a big AEW & NJPW Super Show for Chicago in June. We’ll have to see what he announces, because there are any number of things that AEW has in the pipeline.

Tony Khan loves nothing more than a big announcement on TV. AEW fans will get that this week. What it might be is pure speculation at this point, but we will find out in just a couple of days.
