Gunther made his debut on last night’s WWE SmackDown alongside the newly named Ludwig Kaiser (Marcel Barthel). Gunther crushed Joe Alonzo in his debut. Many fans were wondering where the third member of Imperium was and why the former Walter had been placed in what appeared to be a team with Ludwig. It may be because of WWE’s own doing.

Yes, it probably is a size thing. Maybe an idea that they don’t have faith in Gunther as a singles guy yet… I think that, you know, he can be a top singles guy, although I think the loss of weight hurts him a lot. Vince wants slim people on TV. I could see from the Vince perspective, telling the guy, ‘Hey, drop 30 pounds,’ right? The WWE Universe will have to wait and see what comes next for Gunther. WWE has already been heavily criticized for changing his name. They may now have taken away one of the things that made him one of the most unique superstars on the NXT roster.
