WWE just wrapped up another WrestleMania and they have WrestleMania Backlash coming on May 8th. The creative process in Vince McMahon’s company is always a tricky balance and this is no different.

Following the company’s biggest show of the year, many fans have high hopes. Cody Rhodes’ return to the company has given an idea that fresh matchups are around the corner. While that might be the case they are not booking that far ahead of time.

Ringside News was told that WWE does not have a match locked down for SummerSlam yet. The biggest party of the summer is not booked, but WrestleMania Backlash is.

We were told that WWE “just got Backlash booked” and they “don’t have SummerSlam booked or even discussed yet.” Obviously, they have some time to go until SummerSlam rolls around, but it’s still nice to have some bigger match destinations in mind.

We’ll have to see how things pan out in the weeks to come. The company has a lot of options, but it doesn’t seem that booking ahead of time is a priority.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
