Shane McMahon had a very short stay in WWE after his most recent comeback. A wild day backstage at the Royal Rumble led to WWE quietly letting McMahon go. Ringside News exclusively broke the story that Vince McMahon decided to let his son go and nix his Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania angles. Shane was never employed by WWE, but he was sent home.

It was recently confirmed that WWE is bringing Shane McMahon in for WrestleMania 38 this weekend. It seems Dave Meltzer recently weighed in on the Shane McMahon comeback.

Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer News recently sat down to discuss his thoughts on Shane McMahon coming back for the WrestleMania weekend. Dave stated the Shane has never missed a Hall of Fame and is very unlikely to miss this one.

I mean, [Shane] goes to the Hall of Fame every single Hall of Fame. He’s always at the Hall of Fame. Of course he’s gonna go with Vince inducting Undertaker to the Halff of Fame. From what I was told, and this is from actually multiple people who are pretty high in the food chain. You never know a 100% because it’s wrestling, and also Vince can change everything. There’s always the chance that he will do something at the last moment but him being there… of course he’s gonna be there. Has he like ever missed the Hall of Fame?

As we previously noted, Ringside News exclusively reported at the time that Shane was removed from the plans due to poor reception of the Men’s Rumble match, which he produced. In that process, he was a nightmare and produced a major snafu. The contest that resulted was also widely criticized. Shane McMahon was then dropped from Vince McMahon’s WrestleMania preparations.

At this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, there will undoubtedly be laughs and more than a few poignant statements. The Undertaker will join the ranks of WWE’s most recognizable characters. The award could not have been given to a more worthy icon.
