Damian Priest worked hard to establish himself in NXT after tearing it up in the indie scene as Punishment Martinez. Priest found success in NXT after winning the NXT North American title and taking part in solid feuds. Priest also agrees with Vince McMahon calling pro wrestlers “WWE Superstars.”

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has his own peculiarities which many people simply cannot understand and find very odd. This includes his refusal to call his talents wrestlers and calls them Superstars instead.

Vince McMahon even explained why he doesn’t like the term pro wrestler. While speaking to ViBe & Wrestling, Damian Priest talked about the advice Vince McMahon gave him. Priest agreed with McMahon when it comes to being called a WWE Superstar.

“The way he explained it was perfect. It is clear that I am a wrestler and that I am a professional and that is why I trained for, but I am a WWE Superstar and that is something else. Anyone can be a wrestler but there is only one place where you can be a WWE Superstar and that is obviously in WWE. For me that was the dream, I always wanted to be a Superstar and I love that the nickname or name that he gives us is that one because it is special and we deserve a name like that.”
