Cody Rhodes let his AEW contract expire and he could be headed back to WWE. A lot of people are expecting to see his return, but there are no guarantees.

The flow of information backstage in WWE is kept purposefully confusing and restricted. Cody Rhodes’ current status is no different. If Cody Rhodes returns during tonight’s RAW in Jacksonville, Florida then that would be epic, but nothing is concretely known at this time.

Ringside News exclusively reported that the writing team was not talking about Cody Rhodes. His name was on the WrestleMania board and on documentation as Seth Rollins’ opponent, but he was pulled off without any explanation given. Word is that match is back on, but everything is being kept under wraps.

On March 10th, we reported that the creative team was told, “Cody will do what Cody chooses is best for his family. We hope he’s happy in whatever he does, wherever he lands.”

We circled back on the morning of RAW in Jacksonville to see if anything changed on the matter. We were told that “he’s not being discussed with the writing team.” Additionally, a tenured member of the creative team told us that, “whatever his deal is, it’s being kept ‘up above and secret’ for now.”

We will have to see if Cody Rhodes shows up in WWE on the road to WrestleMania or on either night during the show of shows. Either way, The American Nightmare managed to capture the pro wrestling world’s attention once again.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
