Steve Austin accepted Kevin Owens’ WrestleMania invitation and he will be at the show of shows. This is a deal WWE hinted at for weeks, but no mention of Austin was made until this week.

Ringside News exclusively reported that talks between WWE and Steve Austin were underway, but nothing was locked into place. They finally got the Texas Rattlesnake to make a return, but only for a segment. Their projected match was then downgraded to a confrontation.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez spoke about Steve Austin’s deal with WrestleMania and how things just came together.

“I don’t know this for sure, but I have been given the impression from a pretty good source that, in fact, Steve Austin had not officially agreed to do WrestleMania until, like, a couple of days ago. So, it was very, very recently. So, you’ll notice that Kevin Owens kept talking about Texas, but they didn’t announce Steve Austin until yesterday, because Steve Austin, very recently, signed the deal.”

We’ll have to see what WWE has planned for WrestleMania. Of course, WWE would love to have Austin actually wrestle a match. That is what they wanted, but it was never officially booked. Steve Austin never agreed to wrestle again, but at least fans will get a KO Show segment.
