Taz’s son Hook was largely seen as the silent enforcer of Team Taz for the beginning half of his career. Many fans never thought Hook would even compete inside the ring but that did not take too long to change. It seems Ricky Starks fought with Taz regarding Hook’s presentation as well.

Hook impressed many fans with his in-ring debut. His debut also did huge numbers on social media and racked up larger numbers than even Bron Breakker’s did. AEW held off his debut and there was a good reason as well.

Hook has shown off his in-ring prowess in more matches since then. FTW Champion Ricky Starks is a huge fan of Hook as well. While speaking with ComicBook.com, Ricky Starks revealed that he fought with Taz when it came to Hook’s presentation in AEW.

“I remember when he first started with us back in Jacksonville. A lot of people didn’t get him. A lot of people did not understand him or couldn’t figure out what [he] was about. And I’ll never forget being like, ‘Hey if you wanna wear a hood on TV, you should do it. Just try it, just do it.’ And his dad [Taz] was like, ‘No, he’s gotta show his face.’ [I said] ‘No, just let him do it. Let’s see what happens.’ So it’s cool to see it take off the way it has.

And obviously, we are very proud to see how far he’s come. Especially from when he first started to where it is now. The Team Taz group has been through a lot, quite a bit. And where we’re at right now is not where we want to be, but it’s way better than where we were. So I’m glad and I’m proud to see where he’s at, and he’s awesome.”

Bryan Danielson also wants to square up with Hook in the future. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for the young star as the future is certainly bright for him.
