Triple H was once the internet wrestling community’s most hated personality. That later turned to respect and admiration as The Game built NXT into a pro wrestling fan’s dream. Health issues have kept Triple H away for quite a while. NXT has undergone drastic changes in his absence and most of his preferred staffers were fired by WWE.

A serious heart condition has kept public appearances limited for Paul Levesque. There have been a few Triple H sightings, such as when he toured the construction site for WWE’s new corporate headquarters. Otherwise, he has been laying low and recovering after a very serious procedure.

That hasn’t kept the WWE Universe from speculating about the future of Triple H. Most people have accepted that he is unlikely to ever wrestle again. With news that WWE is bringing back Stone Cold Steve Austin for a WrestleMania match with Kevin Owens, that speculation has again gained steam. Dave Meltzer dismissed the notion of an in-ring comeback for Triple H on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.

“Triple H would be a terrible idea. His heart situation is… He can’t. I don’t want to say never, because that’s unfair… Maybe he can do something, but that would be a horrible idea for him and that’s not going to happen this year. There’s no way.”

Triple H had one of the most storied careers in wrestling history. The King of Kings had a redemption arc when he went from full-time wrestler to the head of NXT. Fans who are hoping to see him get in the ring again might want to hold their breath.
