Brian Cage honed his craft in various promotions before making his way to AEW. The Machine is known to call out various pro wrestlers he wants to face in the future. It seems Brian Cage’s original AEW contract expiration date has been revealed.

Cage was engaged in a feud with Team Taz after he was betrayed by them back in July last year. Cage was usually prominently featured on AEW television but his wife isn’t a fan of his booking in AEW as she ranted about it on social media. This even led to some heat on him.

A recent report stated that Brian Cage had opted for one-year contract extension with AEW. This was followed by Brian Cage promptly denying the report as well. According to Fightful Select, Brian Cage’s AEW contract would have expired on February 21st had he not opted for a one-year extension.

In an update on the Brian Cage contract situation, we confirmed with sources within All Elite Wrestling that Cage’s option year on his contract was picked up. We noted on Wednesday that he’d told several in the company that it happened. We’re told that his deal would have expired on February 21, but the option was exercised a couple of days before that happened.

Cage’s deal is now set to expire in February 2023.

Brian Cage has not been seen on AEW television since losing a street fight to Ricky Starks on the October 6 episode of Rampage last year. It remains to be seen what will become of Brian Cage in the end.
