Bobby Lashley won the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble against Brock Lesnar, but he didn’t hold it for very long this time around. The All Mighty didn’t even get his hands dirty at the Elimination Chamber, but at least he got a sick entrance in Saudi Arabia complete with fireworks.

Lashley is injured and out of action with a shoulder issue. He was booked for the Madison Square Garden event on March 5th against Brock Lesnar, but recent advertising does not include his name.

Ringside News was told that “Lashley is trying to get cleared, not only for MSG but for WrestleMania.” He is not out of the question for the next Madison Square Garden show, or Mania for that matter. Hopefully, he can recover in time, but it is unclear exactly how injured his shoulder is at this point.

Bobby Lashley recently underwent shoulder testing to decide the severity of his problem. We will have to wait and see if he can make a return to the ring. Odds are if he can wrestle then Vince McMahon will use him.

As we previously reported, Vince McMahon has largely protected Bobby Lashley for a couple of years now. On December 15th, 2020, we exclusively reported:

Ringside News asked about the apparent protection of Bobby Lashley, specifically if he might be groomed for something much bigger down the line. We were told that Lashley is “seen by Vince McMahon as more of a star than the others on the roster.”

McMahon built a main event player with the All Mighty, something that most fans might overlook. He had an impressive run on top which included walking in and out of a WrestleMania event as WWE Champion, no small feat. Now he is dealing with the ramifications of all that work.

Keep checking back with Ringside News for more updates on this ongoing situation.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
