AEW has their eye out for the top young and undiscovered stars in the pro wrestling scene. That came to a head at last night’s Defy event.

Nick Wayne is a standout 16-year-old wrestler who also has the sport in his blood. Wayne is a third-generation wrestler as Buddy Wayne’s son and Moondog Ed Moretti’s Grandson. He is also All Elite.

At last night’s Defy event, Wayne competed in a grueling match, but his time in the ring wasn’t over after his match. Darby Allin came out and popped the Defy fans big. Then Allin offered Wayne an AEW contract.

This was a big deal and the Defy fans went bananas over the moment. It was a special scene, captured on video and shared by Bryan Alvarez for all to see. You can check out the video below.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
