Jorge Masvidal is one of the most established MMA fighters in UFC and he also has a penchant for riling up people with his comments. He is also highly opinionated and never afraid to speak his mind. It seems Tony Khan wants Jorge Masvidal to compete in AEW as well.

Back in 2021, Jorge Masvidal had been appearing on AEW television as part of Dan Lambert’s American Top Team. He also decimated Chris Jericho on AEW Rampage and was regularly featured during American Top Team’s feud with The Inner Circle.

While speaking with Josh Martinez, AEW President Tony Khan talked about having Jorge Masvidal wrestle in AEW. Khan made it clear he wants that to happen and hopes that it does eventually.

“Well I do think it’s still a possibility [Jorge Masvidal competing in AEW]. I mean, you know, we’ve established [that] the American Top Team fighters are very dangerous and we’ve [had] Junior dos Santos in the ring and Andrei Arlovski’s gone out and beat people up, so I do think there’s a constant threat and of course, Paige VanZant had been around AEW before and now she’s back so it’s something to keep an eye on and we’ll have to see how Masvidal’s fight schedule lines up but I’d certainly be open to it in the future.

But, you know, he’s gotta make the UFC a priority too. I really like those guys at the UFC. Dana has been so good to me. Dana White and Hunter Campbell are great executives and I really have a lot of respect for the UFC. So it just depends on what his schedule is like but it’s something I would love.”

Even Scorpio Sky previously stated that Jorge Masvidal has what it takes to become a professional wrestler. We will have to wait and see if Jorge Masvidal will ever decide to become a professional wrestler in the future or not and compete in AEW.
