AEW will miss Riho as their first-ever Women’s Champion is out of action with an injury. It turns out that injury was sustained in front of the whole world, but nobody ever knew.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed Riho’s injury. He confirmed that she broke her collarbone and will be out of action for three months. He also revealed that Riho suffered that injury while wrestling Britt Baker, but she carried on with the match without complaining.

She will be out 3 months, and that’s the time frame. She got it in the Britt Baker match, and that was early in the match. That’s a broken clavicle, and it’s a super painful injury. The deal is, I don’t know the spot, but I was told it was very early on in the match. She did the entire match. She never complained, but she must have been in incredible pain during that match.

Sadly, Riho was injured while wrestling AEW’s resident dentist. Now she is on the shelf for three months as her injury heals. A broken collarbone is never a good thing, but Riho could come back with even more drive next time around.
